1975 to present
On going service / installation contract including explosion proof installations, motor control & process instrumentation.
Plant consists of 134 PID loops (pneumatic & electronic), 284 process interlocked motors, six process heaters and their associated controls and all subsequent data acquisition.
Selection, installation and engineering for Moore / Mycroadvantage Data Acquisition System. There are 200 data points at present, expanded recently to two nodes with integral network.
Automatic data transfer to Excel / Lotus spreadsheets via DDE for office-wide viewing of plant data has also been implemented.
1975 to present
A number of projects related to airfield lighting have been completed since 1975, including one of Canada's first PLC based lighting control panels.
1990 to present
New facility constructed 1991, includes 184 control loops, 500 digital I/O and 380 data acquisition points.
Our responsibility included selection and recommendation of appropriate control system, (TDC3000 selected over 4 other vendors) purchase and installation of said hardware, logic and process programming including:
Operational safety and reliable shutdown/emergency sequence logic control was of major importance.
On an on-going basis, this system is upgraded, expanded and maintained by ourselves.
1991 to present
Customer had an antiquated mechanical control system on a spindle lathe. On our recommendation, this system was replaced with a PLC based system, coupled with an new pneumatic actuation system.
This resulted in a production increase of more than 50% and a machine down time approaching zero.
General plant equiment service is being provided on an onging basis.
1991
Customer required numerous Automotive Trim forming machines to comply with delivery requirements set by GM Canada.
These machines (11), were designed and built by a local tooling company, where the control functions (Electric / hydraulic / pneumatic) were implemented by ourselves.
Machines have provided consistent operator protection, part quality and service.
1991
Upgraded complete control system for production pipe bending machine using Alpha Laval PLC system. This control system consisted of hydraulic servo drives controlled, in three axes, by the PLC and its' integral operator interface.
2002
Complete overhaul of an existing foam forming press on-site.
Included complete rewiring of cabinet and reprogramming of press using a new PLC.
1992
Customer required machine control for precision glueing application.
We supplied complete turnkey control system consisting of 3 axis motion control, glue tank heater controls, fire and operator protection system and associated pneumatics.
All systems were designed and built in house.
Two such systems were built, one for local use and another for their UK facility.
1992
Supplied complete control system for a box folding / glueing machine complete with glue system and pneumatics.
(A similar machine was delivered to Rheem Canada)
Fall 1994
Regarding the Port Huron / Sarnia tunnel boring machine.
Requested to write and implement program to interface between the ZED laser guidance system and the Moore / Mycroadvantage Data Acquisition System. "C" language programming, Mycroadvantage as well as our experience with PC platform hardware were required for this project.
Fall 1995
Integrated complete servo upgrade for existing bottling line. Complete hardware/software development and implementation for one of their U.S. facilities.
Fall 1995
Regarding the hazardous waste disposal system for General Motors, St. Catharines.
Requested to write and implement program to interface between the power monitoring equipment, the gas analyzer, and the Moore / Mycroadvantage Data Acquisition System. "C" language programming, Mycroadvantage as well as our experience with PC platform hardware were required for this project.
Automated Feeding and Alignment Systems, Waterloo / Ontario
1994 to present
Various machines related to the packaging industry.
PLC based bottle line converger / diverger for Cuervo / Mexico. Complete control system for CD sleeve insertion machines (2) as well as servo controlled line buffer. All of these machines incorporate PLC logic in conjunction with electrical servos and pneumatic controls. Brita filter assembly machine #1 built with a PLC / stepper motor control, touch screen operator interface, and a whole bunch of other neat stuff.
Safety - Kleen, Manati / Puerto Rico
Fall 1996
Complete control package for process distillation column utilizing PLC platform hardware coupled with PC front end (3) running FIX 32 as the operator interface. Complete MMI engineering, graphics, installation, commissioning, documentation and operator training included in the scope of the project. Remote modem access configured for long distance support.
Septimatech, Waterloo / Ontario
1996 to present
Various control systems built for the bottling industry. These include feed screw servo controls, line convergers / divergers, as well as a few research and development projects. A custom bottle digitizer complete with custom software was developed. A multi axis rotary, servo controlled instant changeover system (ICS2000) was developed for PACKEXPO 96 in Chicago. Present projects involve complete electrical reworking of existing bottling lines for T.J. Lipton USA. The goal is to provide a modern control system that will minimize change over time and optimize production.
Emuzing Acres, Sebringville / Ontario
Custom data acquisition package developed to automatically record EMU bird id code (transmitter implant), and its respective weight. This data is collected and displayed to monitor weight gain / loss trends.
